Maharaja Sansar Chand and Maharaja Ranjit Singh forced an alliance to King Sansar Chand during this 1806 and armed Maharaja Ranjit Singh helped Maharaja Sansar Chand, which led to the defeat of the Gorkha army in 1809, and He had to cross the Sutlej river and go to Bapas. Ranjit Singh canceled it after the death of Sansar Chand and after that again this fort was conquered by the Sikhs and started their peace. The fort was eventually taken over by the British Empire after the Sikh War of 1846.
